This unit, for Years 4 and 5, focuses on graphicacy and oracy. In it children are given the opportunity to communicate information, feelings and ideas about their formal and informal play, leisure and recreation interests, places and spaces. How well does their local and wider area and community provide for their interests? What would they like to be able to access? What are their priorities? At what locations could more provision be made? Who could provide it? The unit looks, through geography and citizenship, at the availability, accessibility, and distribution of formal and informal play, leisure and recreation spaces.
