This book provides an insight into the range of natural features which characterise the limestone areas of the Peak District, widely known as the White Peak. It explains the origin and evolution of the limestone plateau, the limestone valleys and associated features (at Dove Dale and in the Wye and Derwent valleys) and the sediments laid down in the Tertiary (near Brassington village).
The authors also investigate the underlying geology in relation to the classic landforms of the northernmost fringe of the White Peak (at Rushup Vale and Hope Valley).
