The Future of Geography in the Secondary Curriculum
The GA has been energetic on several fronts working to promote geography in the secondary curriculum. These are challenging times with substantial change at all levels from A-level and 'Pre-U' to KS3. The advocacy role of the GA has never been more important.
In discussions with the Historical Association - history also faces challenges in the secondary curriculum - we have both agreed to run short questionnaires. The aim is to furnish us with basic, comparable data of the situation faced by history and geography, especially at KS3. We need to be able to talk with government and others with a few 'facts' at our fingertips.
Responses can be anonymous, although a space is provided for your name and email address should you wish to provide them. We will report the cumulative results in a future issue of GA Magazine.
Thank you very much indeed.
Professor David Lambert Chief Executive, Geographical Association
