Furthering the learning and teaching of geography

Research Register

Everyone talks about ‘evidence based planning’ and ‘informed professionalism’, so where does this evidence and information come from? It comes from a research-based profession.

This Research Register has been set up in order to offer practising teachers of geography in primary and secondary schools, geography advisors and inspectors, and academic researchers to tell others about their work. The idea is to build a body of informed practice. All users may view the listings and details of research. GA members may also access contact details for the individuals listed here.

Contributions for this Research Register have come in part from the Register of Research in Primary Geography as well as individual submissions. It includes current and archived reports from small-scale single school-based projects to research on the curriculum at a national scale.

Rachel Bowles provides some tips on getting started. These were written with primary teachers in mind, but secondary and post-16 teachers may like to read through them for ideas.

Please Note: Only full members of the GA are able to access all the Research Register information.
