London 2012 Education Programme: The official Education Programme launches on 17 September and offers a variety of ways for young people to get involved in the run up to the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Find out more on the London 2012 website.
London 2012: Read the DCSF Update Report on the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games released in July 2008. Keep an eye on Games Monitor, a network of people raising awareness about issues within the London Olympic development processes. You might also be interested to see photos of the sites in East London prior to construction work on the Derelict London website.

The materials and extension activity ideas on these pages are intended as a supplement to 'Going for Gold' from the Beijing 2008 resources, and can also be used in conjunction with 'Unit B' from the Athens 2004 resources. Some of the activities can be adapted for use with any sporting event.

These materials first appeared on the GA website in the run up to the 2006 FIFA World CupTM in Germany. Although the focus is on one particular tournament, the resources and activity ideas can easily be adapted for use with other major sporting events.
