Furthering the learning and teaching of geography

A Different View: a manifesto from the Geographical Association

A Different View is a manifesto from the Geographical Association. It makes a compelling case for geography's place in the curriculum. But the world changes, and so does the curriculum. A Different View, and the supporting materials on this website, are designed to be used in any context where geography is taught, explained, encouraged or promoted.

The links below take you to all the supporting materials, from practical classroom activities using the images in A Different View, to ways of using the manifesto to promote geography. To get you started, this document suggests some of the different contexts in which A Different View can be used.

A Different View Video

You can also view the video directly on the Animoto website or the longer version which features more detailed captions. Ideal to use at open evenings, with parents, governors, your leadership team or at options evenings.

A Different View has been produced and funded by the Geographical Association. The GA maintains its independence through the support of its members, whose subscriptions provide the GA's core funding and who give the GA its authority to speak for geography and its role in schools.
