| Flooding in Asia - 2 August |
Recent flooding in the UK has been mild compared to the catastrophic events currently taking place in South Asia. Widespread flooding has occured in India, Bangladesh and Nepal, killing 250 people and leaving almost 20 million displaced. From a geographical perspective, the effects of the flooding in Asia provide an interesting comparison with our experiences in England.
BBC: 'South Asia flood strands millions' - news article plus links to related articles and video footage. Sky News - 'Non-stop rain kills scores in Asia' The Guardian - 'Monsoon floods displace 20 million' India Meteorological Department - includes weather data, monsoon reports, satellite images, forecasts and more.

It seemed appropriate therefore to provide a selection of links to news articles, photographs, flooding information and teaching resources.
GA staff would also like to thank everyone who has contacted us to check that we're ok! Aside from a few problems getting to work and back, we're all safe and well.
