AFSSSE Australia-China Project
A set of resources has been produced by AFSSSE (Australian Federation of Societies for Studies of Society and Environment) to support teaching about the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Four units for environment education, history and culture, economics and business, and geography are available now. With the Olympic Games to be held in China in 2008, these resources can be used to build a better understanding of China and promote mutual understanding between Australia and China. The resource includes inquiry-based activities and resources enabling students in the middle years of schooling (Australian Years 7-10) to develop a positive image of China and explore Australia's relations with China.

Geography Teaching Today - Fieldwork: London 2012
As the Olympic Park develops, there will be many opportunities for engaging students in geographical learning, focusing upon the topics of regeneration, sustainability, culture and sport. These pages provide a background to the geography of the main site and the opportunites for fieldwork in the area. They also provide a structure for a fieldtrip to the site, which looks at the successes and shortfalls of past regeneration projects in East London.

The build up to the Olympics in 2012 to be hosted in London should provide an excellent hook to engage Key Stage 3 students with many geographical themes on a range of scales.
