What have banana skins got to do with us? This is the question that artist Shelley Sacks explores in her unique social sculpture project, ‘Exchange values’, made of banana skins.
For the past ten years Shelley has involved thousands of banana growers in the Caribbean and consumers in the UK in imaginative reflection and discussion. This focuses our power as citizens and consumers and how we can all participate as ‘artists’ in shaping a democratic and non-exploitative world, and Shelley uses bananas as her medium!
