The ‘My Place - Living in the UK today’ core theme is one that many candidates enjoy, yet teachers find challenging. In their evaluation many of the pilot centres felt they spent too long on it, others found it difficult to go beyond a locality study. But going beyond a locality study is just what is required.
This unit does not have to be the first area of the specification that candidates experience, instead teacher’s can choose what to teach when and how.
