Saudi Arabia - The Teacher's Response
What did the teacher think about the students’ work?
I have no doubt that during this unit of work I saw 'Geography Happening'. The activities were all practical and very varied which really engaged the children and created an enthusiasm for the topic.
The children had very poor initial knowledge of Saudi Arabia but a clear chronological progression was shown through the mind map. The increased knowledge of the children as a whole class was clearly shown in the results of the 'Find Someone Who Knows...' game.
Individual progression in knowledge and understanding could be seen through the booklets which the children produced at the end of the unit. The children had very poor initial knowledge and at the end of the six weeks, they were able to produce detailed booklets with only the support of their own geography exercise book. The children were able to present these in a clear and confident manner.
