The unit of work selected was A Village Comparison. During the unit the children could compare their own place - a new, modern, urban village - to Brewood, an old, traditional, rural village approximately seven miles away.
The main focus was a full day's fieldwork visit to Brewood:
Morning - Complete village comparison questions and activities relating to shops, houses, church, street furniture. Sketching and listing similarities and differences between Perton and Brewood.
Afternoon - Complete a geographical walk, stopping at six places with questions and activities using maps, photographs and compasses.
