Original Project Outline

Staff
  • Create online bank of resources
  • Get staff to access online resources
  • Train and encourage staff to generate and upload resources
Pupils
  • Focus on KS3 Year 7 - 7 Delahunt
  • Pilot 1 unit: Green 4 - The Restless Earth
  • Pupils to be able to access resources for this unit both in and out of class via intranet
  • All homework for this unit to be accessed via intranet
Content
  • Existing resources which are electronically based - some converted to web pages
  • Explore multiple intelligence approach to teaching some of the concepts - PW to review resources and suggest strategies to SC
Interface
  • Moodle and/or Macromedia Contribute 3 at school and home
Technical Support
Evaluation
  • Staff (1), pupil (3) and parents (3) questionnaires
  • End of unit assessment - control group complete assessment without access to these resources taught in traditional fashion (7 Gillard) and compare results with Moodle group
Time Scale
  • Initial pilot to be completed at GA Conference 30 March 2005
  • Case study to be completed by July 2005
School Support
  • 0.5 day required for kick starting project for SC and PW
Additional Activity
  • SC to explore use of Open Mind and Mediator as a means of pulling learning plans into a visual web-based environment for both Staff and Ofsted.
  • These products will allow pupils to Mindmap, Brainstorm, etc and also create Flash animations such as models of the Water Cycle, Ecosystems, etc.
  • SC to liaise with JM and PW and decide if products worth purchasing
