Did you know that the Met Office provide free-of-charge video conferences for primary and secondary schools? Led by weather and climate experts, the conferences last for around an hour, starting with a presentation and followed by an interactive question and answer session. Congratulations to the winners of this year's Ashden Awards for Sustainable Schools, Woodheys Primary School and Seaton Primary School. Both schools were commended for the creative ways in which they save and generate energy. Find out more about the schools on the Ashden Awards website. With the support of the GA, the Ashden judging panel have helped last year's winners develop a selection of materials which support sustainable energy teaching and practice in primary schools. Do you help with or run residential trips for your school? What do you think of the quality of the accommodation? What are the centre staff like? Is the food edible? Schoolzone are currently conducting a survey into the curriculum support and accommodation facilities required by schools on residential trips. Primary CPD Survey. Are you a practising primary teacher or primary subject leader? If so, can you spare 15 minutes to help the TDA?
They would like to find out about:
the current position on availability of training for primary subject leaders concepts of subject leadership training and development in primary schools generally attitudes to what is currently available the impact of training and development on teaching and learning
The survey can be found on the Schoolzone website. Each completed questionnaire will be entered into a prize draw to win £250. The deadline is 5:00pm on Tuesday 10 July.
