Education Action has re-launched its popular £25 Challenge for students and schools across the UK. The campaign challenges teachers and students to learn about life in Sudan and to use their creativity in raising just £25 each - the cost of sending a child in Sudan to school for a whole year. You may be interested in two projects undertaken within the Public Geographies Working Group at GEES, Birmingham University:

Making the Connection (Ian Cook, James Evans & Helen Griffiths)

An attempt to develop new school and university geographies that were more engaged, challenging and socially inclusive. This project engaged and involved publics through bridging the divides between university and school geographies.

Under Control? (Emily Quinton)

An exploration of a personal recovery form anorexia through photography and auto-ethnography. This project engages the personal with academic, gallery and online publics.

A new website has just been launched providing a comprehensive catalogue of all UK subject associations. The listings are growing but the site already boasts details of 32 associations. The website also includes general information about subject associations, updates and news about partnership projects. www.subjectassociation.org.uk
