The final report of The Independent Review of the Primary Curriculum led by Sir Jim Rose has now been published. It includes the proposed Programmes of Learning that would make up a new curriculum and the Essentials for Learning and Life that would be developed throughout the curriculum.
The QCA is managing a consultation period that will run from Thursday 30 April until 5pm Friday 24 July 2009. Remember, individual responses carry more weight collectively than corporate/institutional responses- so make sure you get your voice heard!
Download the final report from the Teachernet website.
Find out more about the consultation period on the QCA website.

April 22 is Earth Day. Founded in 1970, Earth Day is designed to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth's environment. Earth Day events are held throughout the world, and although it may seem a little late to have your own Earth Day action, many people celebrate it after April 22. Find out what you can do at the Earth Day Network website. This website could be a useful resource in any unit investigating environmental and sustainable development issues.
For a different perspective, that asks questions about the effectiveness of such one-off events see the Guardian article 'Is Earth Day enough to save the planet?'.

The GA has teamed up with the BBC to bring you this project which aims to help your KS3 students bring their geographies to the screen:
'My World in 60 Seconds is a film project to create an alternative guide to our world, a guide that is created by you. We want to re-present the world as people know it, so we're looking for young people to make short films that are thought provoking, insightful and engaging'.
