The Fleure Library

The GA named its library the 'Fleure Library' as a tribute to Professor H J Fleure for his work as Honorary Secretary and Editor of the Association's journal for 30 years between 1917 and 1946.

The Fleure Library was on permanent loan to the University of Sheffield from 1983 until 2001, when ownership was transferred to the University of Sheffield. The GA continues to add review books and exchange journals to the University of Sheffield's collection. In return, the University allows GA members free external borrowing rights.

The University of Sheffield Library is situated close to the University's Department of Geography and a short walk from the GA's Sheffield Headquarters.

Find out more about the University of Sheffield Library, including opening times and access arrangements.
