Action Plan for Geography - Meet the Team

The success of the Action Plan for Geography is dependent on the geography teaching community, GA members and volunteers. They will be coordinated and led by an APG staff team at the GA, but in the end will rely on broad based support and leadership in schools all over the land.

The leadership team will be points of contact for different projects. They will help the GA to ensure that the milestones of the APG are secured whilst maintaining commitment to the promotion of the GA and its mission.

Staff for the second phase of the Action Plan for Geography (2008-11) will be:

John will retain overall responsibility for the GA's APG2 activities.

Curriculum Development Leaders (Primary)
This permanent post will be shared by Wendy and Paula who will continue their work leading the primary programmes of the Action Plan.

Alan Parkinson
Curriculum Development Leader (Secondary)
Alan is well known for his innovative curriculum work nationally and has been involved with much of the secondary Action Plan activity. He will now be building on that work in this new permanent role.

Website Editor
Anne will continue to keep the Geography Teaching Today website up to date for the GA team.

Julie will assist with various aspects of APG2 with a particular focus on the Quality Marks.

Justin will lead the Secondary Geography Quality Mark scheme.

Dr Rita Gardner (Director RGS-IBG) and Prof David Lambert (CEO GA) continue in their joint roles as Project Champions for the APG.
