Funding & Awards

You can apply for a number of different awards and funds through the Geographical Association. Most are relatively small in scale and available for specific projects, for example the Frederick Soddy Trust Awards for field work, or aspects of geographical education, for example the Bradfords Awards for departmental innovation in secondary schools.

We have our own GA Awards, and make funds available through GAIIF. GA Awards aim to recognise material which is likely to make a significant contribution to geography in primary schools, secondary schools or colleges. More details about GA Awards are available here. The purpose of GAIIF is to promote international relationships between individuals and associations concerned with geographical education. Find out more about GAIIF here.

We have also included information about applying for other funding and awards and how to enter educational competitions. Some of these are open to geography teachers and educators, and some directly to students.

Good luck with your application.
