Teachers TV has more than a thousand programmes available online. The ones listed on this website have been selected for their potential interest to Geography PGCE tutors. We've also chosen a few programmes for you to watch directly on the GA website using the Teachers TV video player.

Programmes focusing on geographical themes and issues
These programmes include films and discussion of geographical issues but they do not show geography teaching in practice. They could be used to extend PGCE students' subject knowledge or to discuss how such films might be used in the classroom.
Programmes which review primary resources for geography
Each 15-minute programme examines three recommended resources. The programmes could be used to help tutors identify resources relevant to their own courses or to discuss with students how resources might be evaluated.

These programmes show primary school children learning geography in the classroom and/or in the field. As each programme is only 15 minutes long, the teaching sequences are necessarily quite short. Some of the programmes have links to lesson plans and other resources.

Geography Discussion Group
GA member Stephen Schwab has created this discussion group on the Teachers TV website for all those interested in or teaching geography. Share ideas, discuss good practice and recommend new and interesting resources to other participants including Teachers TV videos. All are welcome from NQTs to HoDs and beyond.
