Welcome to the Teacher Education (GTIP) Area
This part of the GA website is designed to support geography teacher educators. It provides a wealth of ideas, resources, reading lists and weblinks. Some parts of GTIP, particularly the Think Pieces and the Library, may be of interest to a wider audience of mentors, teachers and PGCE students and to geography teacher educators in other countries.

Geography and Development: Development education in schools and the part played by geography teachers is a new report pubished by the the Development Education Research Centre of the Institute of Education, University of London, in partnership with the GA. (08.12.11)
Free resources for primary researchers
The Register of Research in Primary Geography pages have been updated to include free guidance for researchers and numerous published articles.
New geography education journal
Review of International Geographical Education Online (RIGEO) is a new international geographical education journal which publishes articles on all aspects of geographical education. RIGEO is published online twice a year and all content is open access.
Geography Education Research Collective
GEReCo is a group of teacher educators dedicated to the promotion of geography education through research and publication. Find out more about the group members, their aims and recent activities.

These articles are intended to inform, to encourage reflection on a range of themes, and to provide practical support for tutors planning PGCE sessions.
