The GA offers work experience to at least one school student each year, normally through the work placement programme operated by Business & Education South Yorkshire.
Other requests for work experience at the GA's Sheffield Headquarters will be considered and should be made in writing to John Lyon by post or email.
The GA offers one internship each year in association with the University of Sheffield Geography Department. Congratulations to Stephanie Milton, a second year BSc student, who has been awarded the 2011 GA internship.
We regret that no further GA internships are available this year.
Emma joined us in June 2010 for a month long internship after winning the annual essay competition organised jointly by the GA and the University of Sheffield.
Emma's essay was a personal account of the importance of geographical understanding based upon her own life-changing experiences on an expedition to Kenya.
In this interview Emma reflects on some of the reasons why she chose a geography degree, why she wanted to become a GA intern, and her experiences of working here.
