Geography from Square One - Finding time for things that matter
Most teachers feel that there just aren’t enough hours in the day! Geography should take up the equivalent of about an hour a week. However, you can allocate the time in different ways, for instance:
as half-termly topics
as mini-topics over two to three weeks
through residential field visits or specific multi-subject topics
The main thing is to ring the changes – they need to add up to a varied, co-ordinated, geography curriculum. The Square One activities can all be used in this way.
Geography from Square One is a Geographical Association project, supported by funding from The Frederick Soddy Trust and the DfES
