Annual Conference Booking Information
Online booking is now available for those paying by credit/debit card. If you would prefer to pay by cheque or would like to be invoiced (institutions only) please download a Conference Booking Form and send it by email, post or fax to Lucy Oxley.
Attendance at Conference will be by pre-registration only
Your registration fee includes refreshments, buffet lunch and full access to lectures, workshops, forums, the resources exhibition and day-time receptions. There will be no additional fee for attending workshops, but pre-booking is advisable as places are limited.
Free student registration
Free registration is available to all full-time and PGCE students. Please attach proof of your student status, e.g. photocopy of your NUS card, with your completed booking form. Online booking for students is available but proof of status will be required by email, fax or post. Bookings cannot be processed without this proof. Please note: student registration does not include lunch, however there are several outlets situated close to the Renold Building where you can purchase hot and cold food.
Early Bird Booking
The 'early bird' booking fee will save you £10 on your registration and all GA members making an early bird booking will receive a free copy of Discovering Cities: Manchester, worth £9.99! The deadline for early bird booking is 23 December 2008.
Information for Overseas Delegates
The Geographical Association welcomes delegates to their Annual Conference from outside the UK. Please note full payment prior to Conference must be made by all overseas participants. This can made online using a credit/debit card or by sending an international bankers draft in Pounds Sterling. We regret that we are unable to issue an Invitation Letter to participants outside the UK.

Katine Project
In October 2007 Guardian News & Media launched a three-year initiative - in partnership with the African Medical & Research Foundation (Amref) and Barclays - to support a community of 25,000 people in the Ugandan sub-county of Katine in overcoming the effects of extreme poverty, civil war and climate change.
|
|
The project is funded by donations from Guardian and Observer readers and Barclays, but it is more than just a fundraising push. On the Katine website you can read about how the money is spent, how development works and listen to the people of Katine share their views, watch films about the issues they face and things they do in their daily lives.
The project is focusing on five key areas, education, health, water, governance and livelihoods - find out more about each topic by following the links.
The GA will contribute £1 per paying delegate from the GA Annual Conference and Exhibition towards the project.
