The world's largest dam is not without its detractors and most draw attention to its negative environmental consequences. It will flood over 25,000ha of farmland, 13 major cities, 140 large, and hundreds of small villages along the river's banks. This 'event' will necessitate the evacuation of 1.25 million people.
