Furthering the learning and teaching of geography

Let’s pull it all together, and share!

Pulling it all together
| More

What can we create, for sharing, with all these words?

Now it's time to collect together and explore the sense impressions, thoughts and feelings, and other material gathered so far...

  1. Sheets of our children's own sense impressions and feelings from their own journeys to school (Session 1)
  2. Sheets from their 'putting themselves in the picture' when looking at the projected images of children in going to school in India (Session 2)
  3. any lists, ideas, sounds, images, etc. the children have chosen/generated on the way, and any research they've done from books, maps... anything relevant

Now we are going to turn this into a performance for the whole school!

Note that this session could take place over one lesson, a full morning, or longer. The more time you have to encourage and involve children, the better the writing, geography and visual literacy that will result.

Here and There

This is an example script of a performance piece from pupils who have done this session. It is created by pupils at Sir Harold Jackson Junior School, Sheffield, with Ann Hamblen.
