School geography faces an opportunity for fundamental change. Students who study geography should be encouraged to seek explanations about how the world works and to consider alternative future scenarios.
School geography should give opportunities for students to apply knowledge and conceptual understanding to new settings, to 'think geographically' about the changing world around them. Students should be allowed to develop as true geographers - posing geographical questions about issues that are important to them.
