Attendance at Conference is by pre-registration only
Your registration fee includes refreshments, buffet lunch and full access to lectures, workshops, forums, the resources exhibition and day-time receptions.
Workshops
This year pre-booking is only required for IT workshops (free). For all other workshops places will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis on the day. Capacity is often restricted so please ensure that you arrive in plenty of time to avoid disappointment.
Free student registration
Free registration is available to all full-time and PGCE students. Please attach proof of your student status, e.g. photocopy of your NUS card, with your completed booking form. Online booking for students is available but proof of status will be required by email, fax or post. Bookings cannot be processed without this proof. Please note: student registration does not include lunch, however there are several outlets where you can purchase food.
Information for Overseas Delegates
The GA welcomes delegates from outside the UK. Please note full payment prior to Conference must be made by all overseas participants. This can made online using a credit/debit card or by sending an international bankers draft in Pounds Sterling. We regret that we are unable to issue an Invitation Letter to participants outside the UK.
Every year the GA gives a portion of the Annual Conference and Exhibition delegate fees to a charitable organisation chosen by the current GA President. This year we will contribute £1 per paying delegate to the Albert Kennedy Trust.
The Albert Kennedy Trust (AKT) supports LGBT 16-25 year olds who are made homeless or are living in a hostile environment. They aim to meet the individual needs of each young person and ensure they get back on track in life. They support several hundred young people every year who have experienced domestic violence or have been ejected from home after coming out as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual or Trans to their parents or care giver.
This year all hotel bookings are handled by the University of Derby on behalf of the GA. Online booking through the University has now closed. Free shuttle buses will operate between these hotels and the Kedleston Road campus. You can find your own accommodation on the Visit Derby website.
In addition to the main conference programme, a number of social events will take place on the Thursday and Friday evenings which need to be booked in advance. This year's events include the annual Conference Dinner, a Wine Tasting evening and a Nepalese Thali Taster. Further information is available on the Events page.
Pre-booking is also required for the free public lecture and awards presentations taking place on the afternoon of Thursday 4 April.
Contact Lucy Oxley (0114 296 0088) if you haven't booked your requirements.
