Book Now - GA Annual Conference 2011

Online registration is now available for the 2011 GA Annual Conference & Exhibition. This international event for primary and secondary geography teachers, students, academics and ITE tutors will be held at the University of Surrey from 14-16 April. The programme includes a wide range of workshops, lectures, field visits, research sessions and social events plus the UK's largest exhibition of geographical resources.

Community Cohesion Online CPD Courses

These new courses explore the relationship between community cohesion and geography. Part One helps you think about the contribution geography makes towards your school's duty to promote community cohesion, while Part Two comprises three activities focusing on attitudes to leisure, hypermobility and homes and families plus a plenary exercise.

GIS for Beginners

GIS for Beginners

This new series of two-day training courses is aimed at secondary geography teachers with little or no experience of GIS. The courses are led by the GA and ESRI (UK) and include a year's subscription to the popular DigitalWorlds GIS software.

Free Residential Geoscience Academy

Free Residential Geoscience Academy

The Geological Society will be hosting its first Geoscience Education Academy from 22-25 August in London. The Academy is aimed at teachers who do not have a background in Geoscience, but are required to teach it in school. Attendance is free and all travel costs, accommodation and meals are covered.
