Forthcoming Events

Here are the Branch's final two events for this season:

Grassroots in Malawi
Monday 26 April 2010, 7:30pm
Easton College Sports and Conference Centre, Norwich
Talk given by Les and Kathie Craske

Malawi has a population of about 13 million and is one of the poorest countries in the world. This talk illustrates the various ways in which the Grassroots Trust is helping to alleviate the problems with their work in a rural community. The presentation will also illustrate how local people make a living and it will include general information about Malawi. Free to members. Guests £3. There will be a collection for the Trust.

Visit to Venta Icenorum
This year's visit will be to the site of the former Caistor Roman town of Venta Icenorum. It is located a short distance south of the A47 Norwich southern by-pass, with ample parking. View map.

The visit will be led by Roger Bellinger who is President of the Norfolk & Norwich Archaeological Society. If numbers exceed 20 (which I hope they will) then two leaders will be available. You are advised to bring sturdy footwear and a waterproof coat.

There will be a charge of £2.00 from which a donation will be given to the Archeological Society.

Those wishing to come should let David Stannard know at the GA meeting on April 26 (above), or later by phone (01603453118) or email.

SEEing the Future

SEEing the Future

This is an exciting opportunity coming up for all secondary and sixth form students in the Norfolk area. SEEing the Future is a cross-curricular project connecting art and the environment. It is a chance for young people to create work for an exhibition to be held at Norwich's Environment Centre: The Greenhouse from 1 - 4 June 2010. They accept submissions in all different media, and the submission deadline is 8 May 2010.
