About

13 July 2007 - The new Milton Keynes GA Living Geography branch has met three times this year and we are beginning to get established. We discuss issues which are relevant to the changes facing us in departments and we share ideas and resources. If you are interested in being involved please keep an eye on this page for details about next years events or email Vicki Hull.

Minutes of all branch meetings can be found at the foot of this page.

Spring 2007 - The Living Geography Milton Keynes branch is now up and running. Our first meeting was held in October 2006 and we were pleased at the positive response from schools in the Milton Keynes and Bedford area.

There is so much 'Living Geography' going on in our region that it is hard to know where to start. However we have established four project ideas to get us going.

The focus of these projects are:

  • Considering the future for the brickworks in the Marston Vale area. This has been planned and designed by Brian Roberts and will be available online.
  • Using InfoMapper as a resource to explore how Milton Keynes has changed as it approaches its 40th birthday.
  • Developing a case study of the Marston Vale as a region of industrial change for Key Stage 4.
  • Establishing links between primary and secondary schools by planning fieldwork opportunities.
As a 'new wave' branch our communication is by email and the GA website. For further information contact Vicki Hull.
